There are many Tottenham Hotspur fans who now feel that Hugo Lloris should be let go at the end of the season.
Alasdair Gold of Football London has suggested that Tottenham are expected to keep Lloris, and may even offer him a new contract to stave off interest in his services.
However, Spurs fans are not keen on that idea, and have suggested that handing the Frenchman new terms would be a backwards step.
Tottenham supporters’ apparent desire to see a new goalkeeper come into their side is understandable.
Lloris has proven fairly unreliable this season, and even though he is an influential figure in the dressing room, there has to be concerns over his recent displays.
Tottenham have been linked with some attractive goalkeepers like Nick Pope recently, who would offer a younger alternative to Lloris.
However, with money tight, it may just be that the club have decided that signing a new number one shouldn’t be a priority at this time.
