Wolverhampton Wanderers have struggled for goals this season, so could perhaps do with targeting the Newcastle United prospect.
Wolves manager Paul Lambert
When Paul Lambert considers the problematic areas within the Wolves squad that he must address this summer, finding more fire power in front of goal must surely be high up on his list of priorities.
The Molineux outfit go into the final game of a disappointing Championship campaign with just 53 goals coming in 45 matches, with their top goalscorers in the league boasting just 10 goals each.
And with neither Helder Costa or Dave Edwards – the two men to have reached double figures this term – playing as out and out strikers, Lambert surely cannot let the summer pass without bringing another goalscorer in.
Therefore, it may be wise for Wolves to ask about Newcastle striker Adam Armstrong’s availability as a loan deal may be an excellent move for all parties.
Newcastle United’s Adam Armstrong
The 20-year-old may have perhaps been hoping that going on loan to Barnsley this season and playing in the same division as his parent club would have boosted his chances of earning a place in Rafa Benitez’s side next term.
However, following the Magpies’ promotion, it seems difficult to imagine that Armstrong has quite shown enough at Oakwell to move up the pecking order at St James’ Park given that they will be playing in the Premier League next year.

But with the level of expectation at Wolves arguably meaning that joining Lambert’s men would be a step up following his year with the Tykes – despite the latter sitting one place higher in the Championship table – a loan deal would certainly benefit Armstrong and Newcastle also.
And if he can build upon the form that he has shown over the last couple of seasons, then Wolves may not have to worry about where the goals are coming from next term.
