Wolverhampton Wanderers could perhaps do with bolstering their options on the left-hand side of defence, so perhaps they should rival Nottingham Forest for the Everton defender.

Following Wolves’ decision to not extend Silvio’s contract beyond this summer, as reported by the Express and Star, Nuno Espirito Santo may well be looking to bolster his options on the left-hand side of defence ahead of the new Championship season.

Matt Doherty was the first-choice in the role during the previous campaign, but the 25-year-old is predominantly a right-back so it may not be a surprise if Nuno plans to use him more often in his favoured role next term.

With that in mind, perhaps Wolves should consider looking to rival Nottingham Forest, with the Daily Mail reporting that Mark Warburton’s men are looking at Everton defender Brendan Galloway.

The 21-year-old has some Premier League experience so may be a decent option for Wolves to consider pursuing this summer.

Galloway struggled to break into the side during his loan spell at West Brom during the previous season, so it would perhaps make sense for Ronald Koeman to consider loaning him to a second tier side to help him get some confidence back in his game – though, it must be mentioned that the Mail does not suggest whether the Toffees would be willing to let him go on loan or are ready to move him on permanently.

And with Wolves already bringing in three defenders so far this summer, signing Galloway and bolstering their options on the left would surely allow Nuno to focus all of his energy on other areas of the squad that require more attention before the season begins.
