The Spaniard is a reported transfer target for Leeds United, but Wolverhampton Wanderers should join the party.

Wolves have begun their Championship campaign in fine fettle, winning six and drawing two of their opening nine league outings, and look to be reinvigorated under the guidance of Nuno Espirito Santo.
It could be argued, however, that the Portuguese needs to add further quality to his squad during the January transfer window, if his side are to sustain their impressive form for the duration of the campaign.
And a useful option for them could be Osasuna ace Fran Merida, who is drawing attention from Leeds United, according to the Daily Mail.

The 27-year-old Spaniard is a classy operator, and his quality when in possession of the football could prove to be a major asset for the Black Country outfit this term.
The left footed ace has played for six different teams since leaving Arsenal in 2010, and has demonstrated his ability to dictate the tempo of the game on a consistent basis.

He is an orthodox central midfielder, and can contribute in both the defensive and attacking thirds. He would offer Nuno’s side a different dimension to their build-up play and the cultured manner in which he operates would most definitely bring a certain edge to their playing style.
And if Wolves can remain in contention for promotion come January, they would surely stand a fantastic chance of convincing Merida to move to Molineux, and join Nuno’s revolution at Wolves.
