Mason Mount is linked with a summer exit from Chelsea on loan so should Wolves make a move?

Ajax are the latest European club to have shown interest in signing exciting Chelsea prospect Mason Mount this summer, according to the Sun.

They join PSV Eindhoven, Sporting Lisbon and Werder Bremen in the race to land Mount, who has recently been named the supporters’ player of the year at Vitesse Arnhem, where he has spent the season on loan.

The Blues, however, have no intention of selling a midfielder who was named as player of the tournament as England won the European Under-19 Championship last year.

In fact the West London club were even considering fast-tracking Mount into their first team, but if that doesn’t happen then three Premier League sides have already sounded them out about taking the 19-year-old on loan next term.

Who should be in the frame?

Wolverhampton Wanderers have built their Championship title-winning success of 2017/18 on the back of a number of successful loanees – including the likes of Willy Boly, Diogo Jota and Benik Afobe.

The Sun also reports that they are in the market for a new midfielder, with a £20m bid for Stoke City’s Joe Allen being mooted, but perhaps instead – or maybe as well as – they should focus on a temporary deal for Mount?
