Wolverhampton Wanderers should consider joining Southampton in the race to sign the Barcelona forward.
Nuno Espirito Santo has a lot of work to do at Molineux this summer, if he is to guide his side to a successful campaign upon their return to the Premier League this season.
One particular area where the Portuguese will want to bolster is his forward department, especially with the Telegraph reporting that Benik Afobe is close to leaving the club, having only joined them in a £10 million deal last week.
If the 25-year-old does eventually leave Molineux, Nuno will obviously have to bring in an able bodied replacement, and a useful option for them could be Barcelona striker Paco Alcacer.
The Barca striker is a £30 million summer transfer target for Southampton, according to the Mirror, but the exciting project currently being spearheaded by Nuno at Molineux should be enough to tempt the Spaniard into choosing the Black Country over the south coast.
Alcacer moved to the Camp Nou from Valencia in the summer of 2016, but has struggled to establish himself with the Catalan giants, scoring just 15 goals in all competitions.
He still has a lot to offer at the very highest level, however, and he possesses the kind of attributes that would see him fit perfectly into the Wolves system.
The Spaniard is a clinical finisher, and possesses intelligent movement. He acts as a link between the midfield and attack, and those strengths would offer Wolves something entirely different in the final third.
Whilst £30 million seems like a lot of money, considering the fact that Alcacer is just 24, it actually represents decent value in today’s day and age, and Wolves should not hesitate to bring him to Molineux this summer.
