Jack Wilshere is prepared to leave Arsenal to get an international recall and both Crystal Palace and West Ham are interested.
Jack Wilshere of Arsenal looks on during the UEFA Europa League group H match against 1. FC Koeln.
Wilshere has made just three appearances for the Gunners this season since recovering from a hairline fracture on his leg and none in the Premier League.
The Sun reports that both Crystal Palace and West Ham United are interested in the midfielder, so what would be his best choice if he wants to grab Gareth Southgate’s attention?
Arsene Wenger, manager of Arsenal, looks on during the UEFA Europa League group H match against 1. FC Koeln.
Arsenal
Wilshere could stay put and fight for his place and it is considered that players for the top six clubs have a better chance of selection than those at teams lower in the division.
That said, if the 25-year-old is not playing then it seems unlikely Southgate would take the risk and currently he seems well down Arsene Wenger’s pecking order.
Roy Hodgson, manager of Crystal Palace, looks on during the Premier League match against Manchester United.
Crystal Palace
Seven games, seven losses and no goals makes for sorry reading for the Eagles in the English top flight to date and it is debateable whether Wilshere would want to take on that fight.
The other question is whether Palace’s style under manager Roy Hodgson – who did admittedly use the midfield ace regularly when Three Lions boss – would suit him, with creative freedom stifled and simple, and arguably boring, football preferred.
West Ham United
According to football.london a switch to the Hammers is the move Wilshere prefers if he does leave the Emirates Stadium and while the East Londoners may be concerned about his injury history, it could be the best one all round.
West Ham need creativity in central midfield and if fit the Englishman could well become a regular in the starting XI, further boosting his chances of getting back on the international stage.
