The fellow Frenchman is also out of contract and the pair are good friends.

West Ham have completed some business outside of the transfer window, with the signature of Patrice Evra on a free transfer following his release by Marseille in November.
The deal was a controversial one, considering the details of that release, but West Ham needed to strengthen at the back and Evra has bags of Premier League experience.
On paper it looks a no-brainer and West Ham fans hope he is still as good as he was in stints with Manchester United and Juventus.

But could Evra also help West Ham snap up another controversial former France international, and Premier League winner?
Samir Nasri is a free agent after being released by struggling Turkish side Antalyaspor. The former Manchester City player was recently linked with West Ham, the Daily Mail suggesting he had been offered to the Hammers.
It is surely a proposition they must consider, as Nasri is a class operator who could add immense quality to the West Ham midfield.
Evra could therefore provide West ham with a helping hand in any pursuit for the player. The two are pals from their days playing for the national team together.
In fact, in 2011, Evra openly tried to convince Nasri to ditch Arsenal and join him at Manchester United – although the midfielder ended up at their rivals City – as reported by the Telegraph.

In May 2012 Nasri revealed how Evra had threatened to wash his car with paint stripper after City’s infamous title win.
The pair are in regular contact and are good friends so it would be no surprise if West Ham were to use that link to see Nasri at the London Stadium.
With the creative midfielder in their team, along with Evra, they would have genuine star quality Premier League experience. Surely they should give it a go?
