Manchester United’s Zlatan Ibrahimovic
While Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s contract situation with Manchester United continues to drag on, all ambitious Premier League clubs will have been alerted to his agent Mino Raiola’s recent comments on talkSPORT.
Raiola claimed that while Ibrahimovic wants to stay with the Red Devils, he also wants to stay in England and at a top club – West Ham, offering football at the London Stadium, therefore may fancy their chances of being an attractive alternative to the Swede if the Red Devils decide against extending Zlatan’s stay.

Pretty much every summer without fail, West Ham are linked with a world-class player – this year, it was Manchester City’s Yaya Toure, as reported by the Daily Mail – and every year, without fail, they don’t bring a world-class player in.
However, given the fact that Ibrahimovic is on a free transfer technically, this could be something that finally breaks the mould, as while Ibrahimovic’s wages and signing on fee would be astronomical, it would still work out cheaper than splashing out on a younger player of that calibre.

Throw in the added finance that the Premier League offers, and West Ham could definitely offer Ibrahimovic a package that he would find acceptable if they wanted to, though whether they’ll actively try and pursue him is another matter.
Ultimately, it all depends on whether United try and extend Ibrahimovic’s deal or not – but if they don’t and he departs Old Trafford in the summer, then West Ham should definitely at least test the water.
