West Ham United are thought to be on the look out for new additions this summer, with Slaven Bilic planning on improving his squad.

According to a report in the Metro, Arsenal are set to sell Francois Coquelin this summer – and West Ham United could be an ideal destination for the Frenchman to move to.

Coquelin has shown flashes of quality at Arsenal, but failed to nail down a first-team place.

And with Arsene Wenger keen to raise funds for a spending spree of his own, Coquelin has been placed up for sale.

West Ham should now make a move for the 26-year-old, who could add steel to their midfield.

The Hammers looked abroad for many of their signings last summer, but they paid the price – as a large bulk of the new arrivals struggled to settle at the London Stadium.

Coquelin, on the other hand, would be in position to hit the ground running if he was to move to West Ham.

Coquelin is fully settled in London, and he would arrive at the Hammers with a point to prove.

If Slaven Bilic could harness Coquelin’s energy, and help him channel it in a more restrained manner, then West Ham could have a very useful box-to-box midfield in their ranks.

Coquelin still seems to have some developing to do, but he would receive regular action at West Ham.

And if he could fulfil his potential at the London Stadium, then bringing Coquelin to West Ham could be a gamble worth taking for Bilic’s side.
