West Ham United should be on red alert after Sevilla manager Jorge Sampaoli’s recent comments.

Sat just eight points from the drop zone; the pressure is on Slaven Bilic between now and the end of the season. After West Ham United’s excellent season during the last campaign, many Hammers fans were hoping the club would push on again this season, attempting to secure European football once again.

However, after struggling to adapt to their new home at the London Stadium, and the Dimitri Payet saga which ended with the club losing their best player from the previous season to Marseillie, West Ham have limped their way towards the finish line, leaving some questioning whether their Croatian manager is the right man for the job.

And the pressure could be about to pile on the West Ham United manager after some recent comments from one of the most prominent managers in the Spanish La Liga. Speaking recently, Sevilla manager Jorge Sampaoli has confirmed that he would like to manage in England one day, according to a report in The Sun.

Sampaoli, 57, said: “I hope I get the chance to bring my experience and my ideas to England where some of the best coaches have already brought their own philosophy. I want to compete with them.”

The Argentinian manager has been building a big reputation for himself after his successful spell in charge of the Chilean national team, and currently boasts a more than impressive 51% win ratio at Sevilla.

Should the Argentinian leave the Spanish outfit at the end of the season, there will likely be a clamber amongst clubs from all over Europe for his signature. With that in mind, should West Ham United get the wheels moving already, and attempt an ambitious bid to bring in one of the most exciting managers in European football?

If Arsene Wenger renews his contract, West Ham could be the biggest team in England looking to replace their manager, which could play into their hands. Though there is another team rumoured to be keeping an eye on him, if the Independent are to be believed, and a pretty big Catalan one they are too.

Perhaps Slaven Bilic will be keeping an eye on this one!
