Should West Ham United look at Kieran Gibbs if relegation-threatened West Bromwich Albion go down?

Everton were linked with West Ham United left-back Aaron Cresswell during the January transfer window, with The Mail claiming that Sam Allardyce – who signed him for the Irons – remains a big fan.
If Allardyce is still at Goodison Park beyond this season then it wouldn’t be a huge surprise to see the Toffees make a serious move for the England left-back.
But if West Ham do find themselves needing a replacement, there is one former target who looks like he might be available: West Bromwich Albion’s Kieran Gibbs.

According to The Daily Star last June, the then-Arsenal defender was on the Hammers’ radar but the 28-year-old wound up joining West Brom in a £7 million deal (Birmingham Mail).
However, the England international, who has 10 caps, might be at a Championship club come May as the Baggies sit rock bottom of the Premier League and seven points adrift of safety

Gibbs hasn’t quite hit the heights expected of him since coming through at Arsenal in 2007, but he is still far too good for the Championship and Albion’s likely relegation should make West Ham consider him.
He won’t be shy of suitors and David Moyes should certainly be among them, especially if Everton do come back for Cresswell.
