The Leicester City winger would be an excellent addition to the West Ham United squad this summer.
The Hammers summer transfer window has gone from embarrassingly poor to not far off from being exceptional in the space of just a few days, with Joe Hart’s season-long loan confirmed, Javier Hernandez set for a medical and Marko Arnautovic on his way to east London.
Those three players will be following Pablo Zabaleta to the club, after Slaven Bilic brought the Argentine to the London Stadium earlier this summer on a free transfer.
West Ham fans will be delighted that their club seem to be heading in the right direction…finally. There is one more signing that could complete their summer, however, and turn the Hammers into genuine top six contenders – Leicester’s Demarai Gray.
Leicester City’s Demarai Gray
The 21-year-old winger has demonstrated his exceptional talent during his time at the King Power Stadium, but unfortunately for Foxes fans, that has not gone unnoticed, with the likes of Everton, Liverpool and Tottenham all closely monitoring his situation, according to the Daily Mail.
West Ham are in desperate need of more firepower in the wide attacking areas, however, even with the impending signing of Arnautovic on the horizon, and they should challenge for Gray’s signature, in what would be a huge statement of intent.
The England under-21 international ‘s electric pace and direct playing style would offer Bilic more options this season, and he would provide fantastic competition for Michail Antonio on the right wing.
According to the Mirror, he is available for just £12 million, due to a release clause written into his contract, and that would represent fantastic value for the Hammers.
And if Bilic can convince him into choosing West Ham over the other clubs who are reportedly interested in him, it could turn out to be a signing of real significance for the Hammers.
