Liverpool and Newcastle have been linked recently but should West Ham rekindle their interest in Porto goalkeeper Iker Casillas?

Iker Casillas could be set for a move to the Premier League this summer when his current contract with Porto expires.
Spanish publication Mi Otra Liga claim that Liverpool will be the goalkeeper’s next destination, while Talksport reported that Newcastle United are interested.

There is still the option for Casillas to sign a new deal at the Estadio do Dragao, which could happen with the 36-year-old keen to extend his already impressive Champions League record of 171 appearances. No player has more.
That would of course make the Reds the most appealing English side to the Spaniard, but with them being linked with several other stoppers could he be tempted by someone lower down the table?
Newcastle fit that bracket, but then so do West Ham United who were linked with Casillas by football.london a year ago and could once again be on the lookout for a ‘keeper this time around.

That is because Joe Hart’s loan from Manchester City has not gone to plan and the England international has been dropped in favour of Adrian, meaning new competition will be needed between the sticks.
Casillas may be 37 in May and far from the ‘best goalkeeper in the world’ tag he held for so long, but as a multiple trophy winner the veteran could arguably be worth one year at the London Stadium for his influence on and off the pitch.
