Should West Ham United re-sign the Newcastle United ace?

West Ham United tried and failed to sign a Premier League-hardened midfielder in January, but that could still be the priority for David Moyes if he stays in East London.
Moyes was quoted stupid money for the likes of Joe Allen during the winter transfer window, but if the Scot has been watching Newcastle United as of late then Mo Diame could be a superb candidate.
The Senegal international has played a massive role in helping Newcastle win their relegation battle, posting a series of energetic, no-nonsense displays in midfield.
At 30, Diame may be no spring chicken, but his form during 2018 has been nothing short of outstanding and West Ham fans wouldn’t baulk at the suggestion, even if they already know what he can do.

He spent two years in East London until joining Hull City in 2014, but not before offering a parting shot at then-Hammers boss Sam Allardyce for not playing him in his preferred central midfield role.
Diame, a £4.5 million signing in 2016, only has a year left on his Newcastle contract and therefore West Ham would not need to break the bank to get him.
Moyes might have his eye on younger models this summer, but if he still wants bags of talent and bags of Premier League experience in a midfielder then maybe, just maybe, Diame would fit the bill.
