West Ham United have struggled this season, following a summer transfer window which saw the club make a multitude of poor signings.

The Hammers have begun their season in poor fashion, despite back-to-back victories lifting them to 15th in the Premier League table, after making a slew of panic buys throughout the summer.

Slaven Bilic’s men may have turned the corner, but there still seems to be a genuine need for an added creative, attacking threat in the final third, with the club becoming too heavily reliant on Dimitri Payet and Manuel Lanzini.

The East Londoners should seriously consider a move for Porto’s highly rated wing wizard Yacine Brahimi.

The 26-year-old Algerian international was highly-courted throughout the summer, with Everton close to sealing a £35 million deal for him on transfer deadline day (the Mirror).

The Porto man has also been linked with a move to Arsenal, with Arsene Wenger said to be a keen admirer of the Algerian (FourFourTwo).

West Ham would benefit greatly from having Brahimi amongst their ranks, and he would inject a level of pace, trickery, and direct style that is currently lacking in Bilic’s squad.

When the Hammers are struggling to break down their opposition, they become to predictable, and focus all their pay through Dimitri Payet.

With a player like Brahimi in the side, Bilic could mix his tactics up on a more regular basis, and the Hammers would have another option out wide, rather than channeling everything through their French magician.

West Ham already have an Algerian international in their squad in Sofiane Feghouli, so the transition for Brahimi would be made all the smoother, should a move come to fruition.

Whether the Hammers would stretch to the £40 million that is believed to be required to prise Brahimi from Porto is another matter, but Bilic should seriously consider a move for the speedy winger at the very least.
