The Manchester City man is leaving Stoke City at the end of the campaign and could be perfect for West Ham United.

According to a recent report from the Daily Telegraph, Stoke City have no intention of signing loanee Wilfried Bony in a permanent deal this summer and will send him back to Manchester City as part of a re-jig at the club, with other big name players expected to be sold.

While it is no surprise Bony is set to leave given his disappointing return this season, he is unlikely to get any significant game time back at the Etihad Stadium, so should former suitors West Ham United ready their chequebook?

Last summer, the Daily Mirror claimed the Hammers wanted to bring the Ivorian forward to the London Stadium, but when the time came he instead swapped City for Stoke.

With just 11 appearances, and only two goals, for the Potters the 28-year-old’s time at the Britannia Stadium is coming to an end. However, he still has plenty to offer the right club and he will be desperate to make up for lost time.

West Ham may have Andy Carroll back fit and firing but they are still short up front and Bony could be the perfect fit.

He knows the Premier League and, when playing regularly, he has a habit of finding the back of the bet.

He may also be available relatively cheap considering City are unlikely to offer him more than a bit-part role, if that, so what chance West Ham manager Slaven Bilic taking a punt on a player who should not be written off just yet.
