West Ham United certainly need to bolster their goalkeeper options this summer, so perhaps Leeds United’s Bailey Peacock-Farrell should be on their radar.
One of Manuel Pellegrini’s main priorities for his first summer at West Ham will surely have to be the goalkeeper situation with Joe Hart now back at his parent club and Adrian’s form hardly inspiring much confidence in the Irons faithful when he was given a chance this past season.
A new undisputed number one needs to be on the Hammers’ radar, but perhaps they should join Premier League newcomers Wolves in targeting a move for Leeds United stopper Bailey Peacock-Farrell.
It would arguably be a massive mistake from Leeds to consider selling the Northern Ireland ace, but if Wolves get the sense that they may be able to lure the 21-year-old away from Elland Road, then West Ham should certainly consider making their own bid.
Peacock-Farrell is not ready to be a number one at the highest level, but he clearly boasts a huge amount of potential and adapted to the task of being Leeds’ first-choice superbly during the latter stages of this past season.
If Pellegrini can sign a clear number one, then getting rid of Adrian and having Peacock-Farrell as an understudy could be a superb way for the West Ham boss to make sure that he has that area covered for the coming season and for years to come.
If the Whites are going to make the mistake of letting Peacock-Farrell go – and there is currently no reason to suspect that they may do – then West Ham should join Wolves in looking to capitalise.
