West Ham United have monitored Sturridge’s situation at Liverpool for quite some time, according to reports.
The Hammers were toothless in front of goal last season, and their fans will be hoping that there is a major shake-up amongst their forward ranks during the off-season.
Slaven Bilic must ensure that he signs an established forward this summer, if he truly harbours ambitions of guiding West Ham back into contention for the Europa League spots.
With this in mind, the Croatian should consider a move for Daniel Sturridge, who has struggled for game-time since the arrival of Jürgen Klopp at Anfield.

A report from the Mirror last week claimed that Liverpool have no intention of selling the 27-year-old, but the east Londoners could tempt them into doing business by offering Pedro Obiang in return.
The England international is one of the finest strikers in the division, and would be a fantastic addition for pretty much every team in the Premier League, if he manages to remain injury-free of course.
The left-footed hitman possesses blistering pace over short distances, and plays with a certain kind of explosiveness that could take the Hammers to another level this season.
His goalscoring record during his time at Anfield is impressive, having scored 46 Premier League goals in 89 outings for the Reds, and if Bilic could find a way of coaxing the best out of him, he could prove to be a superb signing for West Ham.
And whilst most Hammers fans will not want to lose Obiang, if it means gaining a striker of Sturridge’s calibre, then they might well deem it as acceptable.
The Spaniard would surely be an attractive proposition to Klopp, what with his tireless work-rate, and tenacious playing style, and the German could very well be tempted into sanctioning the former Chelsea striker’s exit, with the prospect of adding the 25-year-old midfielder to his ranks.
Both players’ valuations are fairly similar, so a swap deal involving the two seems like a perfectly viable option for all parties concerned.
