Simon Mignolet is reportedly set to leave Liverpool this summer after dropping down the pecking order to Loris Karius at Anfield, and West Ham United should do all they can to lure him to the London Stadium.
The Sun claim 30-year-old Mignolet could be transfer-listed by Liverpool, as the Belgium international watched on from the substitutes bench while Karius made two blunders in the Champions League final loss to Real Madrid.
The report claims Borussia Dortmund are keen while Liverpool have considered including Mignolet in a swap deal for Stoke City’s Jack Butland, though Mignolet is unlikely to want to play in the Championship.
The former Sunderland star could be available for as little as £10million this summer, and West Ham should do all they can to lure the stopper to east London this summer.
West Ham have just Spaniard Adrian to choose from, after Manchester City loanee Joe Hart returned to his parent club following a dismal campaign at the London Stadium that saw him dropped from England’s World Cup side.
Adrian is hardly one of the Premier League’s best goalkeepers and is renowned for his proneness to making an error. A new goalkeeper, then, should be one of Manuel Pellegrini’s transfer priorities.
With Mignolet available for a bargain £10m, surely the Hammers should end their hunt for a goalkeeper immediately with what seems to be a match made in heaven.
