West Bromwich Albion should consider a move to sign this vilified Manchester United star.

Manchester United’s Marouane Fellaini has been a much maligned figure at Old Trafford this season, and despite Jose Mourinho offering his public backing of the Belgian, a move away in January would not be a shock to anyone.

The 6 ft 4 in midfielder has all the attributes required that would make him a typical Tony Pulis signing, and he could be a fantastic option for the Baggies.

Pulis has spoken extensively about his desire to bring in reinforcements during the January transfer window, with United’s Morgan Schneiderlin reportedly high on the West Brom manager’s wish-list (the Sun).

The 29-year-old Belgium international could be the better option for Pulis, however, and would perfectly suit the Baggies’ direct style of playing.

His versatility enables him to play in both defensive and attacking midfield roles – which could prove invaluable for West Brom, during the second half of the season, when fatigue begins to play a major role.

Fellaini has found himself to be the target of heavy criticism in recent weeks from his own fans, and made out to be somewhat of a scapegoat for the Red Devils’ failure to win certain games.

Mourinho has made it clear that he is always open to players leaving his club, depending on the right offer coming in, and if West Brom made a substantial bid in January, there is every chance that the big Belgian would be deemed as dispensable by the United management team.

Fellaini still has a lot to offer at the highest level, and a change of scenery could be exactly what he needs to help spark his career back into life.
