Should West Brom target Conor Hourihane amid Aston Villa exit reports?

West Bromwich Albion should look to capitalise as a report suggests that Aston Villa could sell Conor Hourihane.

According to a recent report from TEAMtalk, West Brom are amongst the Championship sides interested in signing Albert Adomah this summer as Aston Villa’s financial concerns continue to halt their plans in the window.

Adomah enjoyed some excellent form at times last season, but seemed to frustrate the Villa supporters at times as he went off the boil. He could prove to be an inspired signing for the Baggies if their interest goes anywhere, but perhaps it should be the winger’s teammate that finds himself on Darren Moore’s radar amid sale reports.

According to the Daily Mail earlier this week, Villa may end up selling Conor Hourihane this summer – and that should tempt West Brom to have a look at the midfielder.

The 27-year-old took a while to get going at Villa Park following his move from Barnsley, but has really found his feet over the last 12 months. He scored 11 goals in the Championship last term, while his record at Barnsley was outstanding – with six goals and 11 assists coming in just 25 second tier games before his move to the Villans.

The quality he possesses when he gets onto the ball should tempt most of the Championship to have a serious look at making a bid now that his future is reportedly in some doubt ahead of the coming campaign.

And while Adomah may prove to be a very good signing for West Brom if the Baggies are able to get him through the door, perhaps the Villa player that Moore should throw all his effort behind signing is Hourihane.
