Everton are reportedly ready to get rid of Sam Allardyce, so should West Bromwich Albion make an ambitious move this summer?

One of the reasons that Alan Pardew reportedly still finds himself in the West Brom job is the fact that the Baggies hierarchy are struggling to find a suitable replacement for the 56-year-old, according to The Telegraph earlier this month.

Pardew’s tenure has been a miserable one and it appears to be a matter of time before West Brom’s relegation to the Championship is confirmed. It certainly does not currently appear that a great escape is on the cards.

If the board decide to get rid of Pardew in the summer, West Brom should arguably take note of developments at Everton as it may be worth preparing an ambitious bid for Sam Allardyce.

The Daily Mirror has reported that the Toffees are making plans for next season, and Allardyce is not the man that they want to lead them as he continues to struggle to win the supporters over following his appointment earlier this season.

Allardyce’s teams may have a stereotypical style, but if West Brom are relegated and do sack Pardew, they should undoubtedly make a move for the 63-year-old who spent some of his playing and coaching career at The Hawthorns.

Allardyce may not be the kind of manager who will encourage flashy football and turn the Baggies into one of the most exciting and beloved teams to emerge from the second tier in recent years, but few managers will be a safer pair of hands when it comes to guiding the team to promotion.

If West Brom can tempt Allardyce to succeed Pardew – just as he did at Crystal Palace – the Baggies would surely be in with a fantastic chance of securing promotion at the first opportunity, if they do go down, of course.

It may be a difficult sell, but West Brom should definitely try their luck if he leaves Everton at the end of the campaign as they definitely need to get the next appointment spot on to ensure that they do not become the yo-yo side they were around a decade ago.
