This player could make the difference for West Bromwich Albion, should they sign him in January.
Baggies boss Tony Pulis has made his intentions to bring in reinforcements in January very clear, after sharing that he has already made bids for four or five players (Sky Sports).
Despite enjoying a successful start to the season, there are undoubtedly numerous areas of the pitch where Pulis needs to strengthen his West Brom side.
And Hull City midfielder Tom Huddlestone could be the ideal January acquisition for the Baggies.
The Tigers are in a terrible state, in more ways than one.
West Bromwich Albion manager Tony Pulis
They currently sit rock bottom of the Premier League table, and have a squad that is quite clearly not good enough to compete in the Premier League.
Combine this with a board who seem more interested in selling their big name players to balance the books at the KCOM Stadium, and you have a recipe for disaster.
And West Brom should consider testing their resolve, by lodging a bid for Huddlestone in January.
The 29-year-old made the move to Humberside from Tottenham Hotspur in August 2013, for a fee believed to be in the region of £5 million, and has gone on to establish himself as one of the Tigers’ most important players.
Hull City’s Tom Huddlestone
His magnificent range of passing and vision allows him to dictate the tempo of the game from a deep-lying position, and the attributes that he possesses would help provide the Baggies with something that they are currently bereft of.
And standing at 6 ft 3 in, he has the type of physique that would fit the profile of a typical Pulis signing.
Huddlestone’s contract at Hull expires in the summer of 2018, so should West from make a substantial offer for the former Spurs man next month, it would be hard to imagine the Tigers rejecting their advances.
