Everton winger Yannick Bolasie is reportedly attracting Championship attention, and West Bromwich Albion should perhaps monitor the situation.

According to a report from TEAMtalk, Everton winger Yannick Bolasie is attracting a lot of attention from a number of Championship clubs who will still be able to loan players for the rest of the month once the initial transfer deadline passes later this week.

Bolasie has endured a difficult time at Goodison Park. BBC Sport reports that the Toffees spent £25 million on signing him, and while he initially made a bright start, he sustained a long-term injury that has meant that he has only been able to make 32 appearances across his two years on Merseyside.

TEAMtalk reports that Marco Silva has deemed the 29-year-old to be surplus to requirements and he is set to be left out of the club’s Premier League squad for this season. Crystal Palace are interested in re-signing Bolasie, but TEAMtalk suggests that a number of second tier sides are monitoring the situation in case he misses the chance to move away permanently this week.

The report does not suggest which clubs are keen. But if they are not one team already in the chase, West Brom should undoubtedly have a look at seeing if they can agree a loan deal for the DR Congo international.

Darren Moore’s men got their Championship campaign off to a poor start at the weekend as they were beaten 2-1 at home by Bolton. It was a disappointing start to a season that many will be expecting to culminate with the Baggies getting promoted at the first time of asking.

West Brom already have some exciting wingers at their disposal. Harvey Barnes marked his debut in some style, scoring a stunning long range goal, while Matt Phillips looked much better than he did for much of last season. Nevertheless, Moore should arguably not pass up the opportunity to potentially sign a player of Bolasie’s calibre if he is available on loan.

A deal at this stage of the window would be a fantastic way for the Baggies to banish the frustration that arose from the opening day defeat.
