West Bromwich Albion will be looking to make some great signings following a promising campaign that has somewhat tailed off lately.
West Brom manager Tony Pulis
As West Brom attempt to build upon what has been a promising year in the Premier League that has somewhat tailed off over the last few weeks, Tony Pulis will know that adding plenty of quality in the summer could be crucial to the Baggies’ chances of impressing once again next year.
With Matt Phillips arguably proving to be one of West Brom’s most impressive players following his arrival from the Championship in the summer, Pulis may perhaps be wise to turn his attention to one of the brightest stars in the second tier once again.
Brentford star Jota has enjoyed a sensational spell at Griffin Park since returning to the Bees after spending the first half of the season out on loan.
The playmaker has scored 12 goals and contributed five assists in just 21 league appearances for Dean Smith’s men, and has unsurprisingly, been attracting the attention of the top flight.
Brentford’s Jota
The Sun on Sunday (print edition; 7th May; pg 63) suggested that Burnley wanted the Spaniard. But West Brom would be making a mistake to allow Jota to move elsewhere as he clearly boasts the kind of quality that would allow him to potentially thrive at the highest level.
And if Pulis did decide to pursue a deal and was subsequently able to bring the 25-year-old to the Hawthorns, then West Brom would surely boast one of the most impressive group of three players playing behind the striker with Jota taking his place alongside Phillips and Nacer Chadli.
