With West Brom struggling at second-bottom in the Premier League, manager Alan Pardew must be looking to delve into the transfer market to bring in the type of players who can help him take the Baggies out of the relegation dog-fight.
It beggars belief that West Brom have not won a single top-flight game since August. They have scored just 16 goals in 22 Premier League games. It is quite clear what West Brom’s biggest problem has been this season.
Pardew desperately needs the January window to put things back on track as the Baggies head into the final 16 games of the Premier League.
Bolstering the attacking department, read as signing a forward has to be at the top of Pardew’s shopping list in January. With this in mind, should they be willing to take a gamble on Everton’s summer signing Sandro Ramirez?
When Everton signed Ramirez from Malaga for just £5.2 million, according to Sky Sports, the Spaniard was seen as potentially being one of the smart bargain buys of the summer. However, he has struggled to adjust to the English game.
The 22-year-old was a terrific goalscorer at Malaga, and interestingly has no shortage of admirers, with the likes of Sevilla and Sporting having shown reported interest in him.
That he is an exciting talent is known to all, and probably he would come good in the second half of the season. But, he needs confidence and certainly needs to play regularly.
His signing would be seen as a huge gamble, but he could also prove to be an inspired buy (either on loan or permanent move) if Pardew can get the best out of him.
