The West Ham United ace could be a useful addition to the West Bromwich Albion squad this month.
Baggies boss Alan Pardew will be desperate to bolster his ranks at the Hawthorns this month, with his side currently deeply embroiled in a relegation battle.
The 56-year-old has made no secret of his desire to improve upon his attacking options, with his side’s tally of just 15 goals scored being the second worst in the division.
With this in mind, Pardew should consider a move for Hammers hitman Andy Carroll, with his future at the London Stadium far from certain, having fallen down the striking pecking order under avid Moyes.
The 28-year-old joined West Ham from Liverpool in the summer of 2013, for a fee believed to be worth in the region of £15 million, having spent the previous campaign on loan in east London.
He has suffered rotten luck with injuries, however, during his time with the Hammers, and has consequently failed to establish himself as a first-team regular at the club.
Carroll still has a lot to offer at the very highest level, though, and could be a useful addition to the West Brom squad.
The former Newcastle United man is strong in the air – arguably the strongest in the division, and he would perfectly compliment the likes of Salomon Rondon and Jay Rodriguez, who are both more proficient when making selfless runs into the channels.
The Englishman’s woeful injury record would obviously be a major concern for the Baggies, if they do in fact contemplate a move for him this month.
Carroll’s ability to perform when fully fit, however, would surely make him a gamble worth taking for the Black Country outfit, and if Pardew does in fact bring him to the Hawthorns, it could turn out to be a signing of real significance for the club.
