The Hull City ace has been heavily linked with a move to Newcastle United, but he would be ideal for West Bromwich Albion.
Baggies boss Tony Pulis is looking to add further quality to his squad this summer, as he looks to guide his side to a successful Premier League campaign.
One particular area of his squad that needs addressing is his central midfield department, with the injection of fresher, younger stars surely a high priority for the West Brom boss.
And with this in mind, the ideal signing for the Black Country outfit could be Hull City ace Sam Clucas, who is still attracting interest from Newcastle, according to the Daily Mail.

Being left-footed, the 26-year-old would add great balance to the Baggies’ midfield, and his tenacious playing style would surely appeal to Pulis, what with the emphasis he places on 100 per cent commitment from his players.
Clucas is an orthodox central midfield player, and with his superb array of passing skills, he has the ability to dictate the tempo of the game from the middle of the park which would, in turn, enable West Brom to have a greater control of the game.
The Daily Mail claim that the Tigers ace is available for around £10 million this summer, and that would represent fantastic value for the notoriously frugal Pulis.
West Brom will not have things all their own way of course, if they do indeed choose to pursue Clucas’ signature, but if they can tempt him into a switch to the Hawthorns, it could turn out to be a signing of real significance for the Baggies this summer.
