West Brom experienced a woeful Premier League campaign last season – one that culminated with their relegation down to the Championship, and Wolves hitman Benik Afobe could be just the man to fire them back to the top flight.

The 25-year-old joined Wolves on a permanent deal from Bournemouth on Friday, for a fee believed to be worth in the region of £10 million, but incredibly, he could be sold already, according to the Express & Star, if they receive an offer in the region of £12 million for the striker.

Afobe would be ideal for the Baggies, what with his proven track record in the Championship, and for the reported fee of just £12 million, he could prove to be a real coup for Darren Moore’s side.

The Arsenal academy graduate possesses blistering pace, and plays with a certain kind of directness that would undoubtedly add some potency to West Brom’s attacking play.

Afobe is a lethal finisher, and is well capable of scoring 20 plus goals in a Championship campaign – something that could make all the difference for the Baggies next term.

It is unclear how much West Brom actually have to spend this summer, but parachute payments that they are due to receive following their relegation should ensure that they have enough money to compete in the market.

With the Baggies now a division below their Black Country rivals, Wolves could surely be tempted into sanctioning Afobe’s switch to the Hawthorns, and if a deal goes through, it could turn out to be one of real significance for Darren Moore and co.
