Tottenham Hotspur want Demarai Gray so perhaps they should try and use Leicester’s previous interest in Vincent Janssen to make a deal happen.

In February, the London Evening Standard suggested that Tottenham had reignited their interest in Leicester City winger Demarai Gray, and after the 20-year-old’s extremely bright display against Everton on Sunday, it would hardly be a surprise if Mauricio Pochettino is even more convinced about targeting him this summer.
If he is similarly convinced about letting Vincent Janssen move on – the Mirror suggested at the weekend that the Dutchman will be allowed to leave this summer after a difficult time at White Hart Lane – then perhaps Spurs should try and use the striker as part of a deal that sees Gray move to Tottenham.
In 2016, Sky Sports suggested that Leicester wanted to rival Mauricio Pochettino’s men for Janssen. And it may not be out of the question to suggest that the Foxes may still retain an interest given that the youngest striker within their current squad is 28-year-old Islam Slimani.
While a like for like swap deal would probably be unlikely without one side paying a fee as well, it would perhaps be a smart idea for Tottenham to try and tempt Leicester into taking Janssen off their hands and allowing Gray to move in the opposite direction.

Though Janssen has shown occasional glimpses of quality since arriving, they have arguably been too few and far between, with his miss against Watford at the weekend arguably symbolising how his spell has gone thus far.
And if Pochettino is confident that Gray can make a greater impact for the club in the future, then perhaps Leicester’s previous interest in Janssen may seem them land the best possible deal involving the struggling striker.
