Winks has been eased back from injury by manager Mauricio Pochettino with three late substitute appearances in the league and there would be some risk recalling him for such a pivotal fixture.
But the 22-year-old is a central midfielder that is excellent in possession and could help Spurs have a stranglehold on the game against top-class opposition in the shape of Liverpool.
He’s proven in the past he is capable of top performances in the Spurs first team, but it would be a Pochettino gamble given his lengthy absence.
