Last summer, Tottenham Hotspur reportedly made a bid of £12 million for Borussia Dortmund’s highly rated German defender Matthias Ginter.

According to reports from Bild, Ginter could leave Dortmund this summer, and move to Hoffenheim for a fee in the region of £13 million.

However, following the departure of Thomas Tuchel, he wants to start a conversation with the new manager before making the final decision.

In any case, his future at BVB is uncertain, and could be tempted to leave the club. Should Tottenham reignite their interest in the German?

The 23-year-old has been a key player for Dortmund in 2016/17, and has made over 40 appearances in all competitions.

The German international is versatile, and in his case that has been a huge problem. There is a big question about his best position, as the defender can comfortably play both in central defense as well as in the right-back role.

His control over the ball and excellent reading of the game has made him being used occasionally as a defensive midfielder as well. In a nutshell, a jack of all trades type.

With Kyle Walker likely to depart, Ginter could be a handy replacement in defence. The price quoted for him is reasonable for a player of his capability and promise.
