Malcom was linked with Spurs last summer but chose Barcelona instead.

Tottenham Hotspur’s lack of summer signings have seen them come under criticism this season despite remaining in fourth place in the Premier League – and Barcelona winger Malcom was one of their prime targets.
The 21-year-old was continuously linked with a move to north London as well as other clubs in the Premier League, after an excellent season with French side Bordeaux last term.
The Brazilian scored 12 goals and created another eight strikes despite his young age and was immediately courted by some of Europe’s biggest clubs, eventually landing a dream move to Barcelona.
But what was a dream to Malcom is already becoming somewhat of a nightmare. He has managed just 25 minutes of game time with the likes of Ousmane Dembele and Lionel Messi above him in the pecking order.
Italian outlet CalcioMercato have even gone as far as reporting that the exciting winger is now “unwanted” at Barcelona, and could be made available in the next transfer window.
That could give Spurs the chance to rectify their lack of signings in the summer by getting a second bite at the cherry and landing Malcom in three months’ time.

But do Spurs really need Malcom? Lucas Moura looks like a different player this season, while Son Heung-min has now returned from international duty. Spurs also boast Erik Lamela, Moussa Sissoko and Georges-Kevin N’Koudou.
But adding a player like Malcom to Spurs’ side, even though he has struggled at Barcelona, would be somewhat a of coup considering the attention surrounding the player throughout the summer.
Evidently thought of highly by Mauricio Pochettino, Spurs should consider another move to land Malcom in January.
