Tottenham Hotspur defender Jan Vertonghen is said to be of interest to Inter Milan.
Tottenham Hotspur chairman Daniel Levy could have the opportunity to trade Jan Vertonghen for Milan Skriniar, if Inter Milan’s interest in the Belgian centre-back is correct.
Gianluca Di Marzio told Italian television Sky Sport 24 (15/11), as reported by FC Inter News and Fox Sports, that Inter want the Tottenham man.
And if the Serie A side do come asking about Vertonghen, then Levy should try for Skriniar in exchange.
Levy has been no stranger to proposing trade deals at Spurs in recent times.
He has tried to swap Toby Alderweireld for Anthony Martial with Manchester United, and there was also talk of a potential swap for Luke Shaw, before the left-back signed a new contract.
And Spurs should consider trading Vertonghen for Skriniar, as the deal could be perfect for them.
Although Vertonghen has been one of Tottenham’s star players in recent years, and he remains a wonderful centre-back, Skriniar is much younger and also impressive.
Skriniar is only 23-years-old, but he has become one of the stand out players in Serie A.
And if Spurs could bring Skriniar in, then it may be worth losing Vertonghen for, as the Slovakian could be a permanent feature in their defence for the next decade.
