Former Tottenham talent Alex Pritchard is heading back to the Premier League with Huddersfield.

Huddersfield Town have moved to sign Norwich City attacker Alex Pritchard, with SkySports reporting the Terriers are paying an initial £10 million.

Pritchard left Tottenham Hotspur in 2016 to join the Canaries, after struggling for game time at Spurs.

Pritchard has long been highly rated and is a former England under-21 international. Now at 24, he is set for the biggest challenge of his career with Huddersfield.

The attacking midfielder still has a lot to prove, but with Tottenham lacking creative players, perhaps they should have considered letting Pritchard show what he can do back in North London?

Beyond Christian Eriksen, Tottenham do not have a natural attacking midfielder and would struggle to replace the Dane.

Since joining Norwich, Pritchard has scored eight goals and provided nine assists, a tally which would have been far higher had his spell at Carrow Road not been hindered by injury problems.

Even so, Huddersfield have shown how highly they value him with a big bid, but this fee could turn out to be a snip in the current market.

Pritchard has gained vital experience since leaving Tottenham, and if he stars in the Premier League for Huddersfield, buying him back could cost double the price in this often crazy transfer market.

A former teammate of Harry Kane at under-21 level for Spurs and England, Pritchard could have been a bargain buy, and provided Tottenham with some insurance if Eriksen was to suffer an injury or be tempted away.
