Will Tottenham Hotspur now focus on signing the Southampton star?
Tottenham Hotspur are in the market for a right-back now that Kyle Walker has completed his £54 million switch to Manchester City.
The Standard reported this week that Tottenham are willing to spend £22 million on Porto’s Ricard Pereira as competition for Kieran Trippier next season.
But Spurs might now have a free run at Southampton’s Cedric Soares following a development in Spain.

A few weeks ago, the Southampton right-back was linked with a move to Barcelona, with The Sun reporting that a £15 million deal is in the reckoning.
However, the Catalan giants have announced the signing of Nelson Semedo from Benfica and their need for a player in that role seems to be of less importance, meaning that the Lilywhites – whom The Mirror claimed also wanted Soares – could get their man.
Pereira might well be a fine right-back, but the fact that Soares has two years of Premier League experience behind him should mean that Pochettino ought to favour him.
Plus, if The Sun’s report about the Southampton man costing £15 million is true then Tottenham would save £7 million if they pursue him over the Porto ace.
