Michy Batshuayi was a target for Tottenham Hotspur before he joined Chelsea back in 2016.

Chelsea are ready to reprise their interest in Tottenham Hotspur striker Fernando Llorente in their desperation to sign a new striker this January, according to The Independent.
As The Independent details, Antonio Conte wanted to reunite with his former Juventus colleague in the summer before Spurs snared the Spaniard from Swansea City on deadline day.
The report adds that Chelsea have been considering West Ham United target man Andy Carroll, but that Llorente is the back-up striker that Conte really wants at Stamford Bridge.

Llorente is a compatriot and mentor of ex-Juventus teammate Alvaro Morata, whose form has dipped lately with no goal in six, and a red card in last night’s FA Cup replay with Norwich City.
The 32-year-old has only scored twice in 22 appearances for Spurs, but most of those have been as a substitute and Mauricio Pochettino would not want to lose his only recognised deputy to Harry Kane.
That would be unless he could bring in a replacement, so should Tottenham ponder a swap deal involving Chelsea’s Michy Batshuayi, who was a target for Spurs before he joined Chelsea in 2016, according to Sky Sports?

The Belgian is not trusted by Conte, making only four starts this campaign outside of the domestic cup competitions, despite a decent scoring record of eight goals from only nine starts.
The 24-year-old would provide Tottenham with a much-needed goal threat off the bench, having scored seven times as a substitute since the start of last season, which is as many as the whole Spurs squad has managed during that period, and would be more of a like-for-like replacement for Kane than target man Llorente.
While Batshuayi may prioritise regular football when choosing his next club and is not guaranteed that at Tottenham either, any move away from Conte and Chelsea would be good for him at this stage.
