Tottenham should consider a move for Lille midfielder.

Newcastle United reportedly failed with a move for Lille ace Thiago Maia last week, Le10Sport claimed.
It’s unclear whether they will return with a renewed offer, and while they deliberate, Premier League rivals Tottenham Hotspur should consider a move.
Maia ticks all the boxes for Spurs, as a potential replacement for Mousa Dembele, who turns 31 next month.

Lille ace Maia is just 21-years-old, and has made the transition to European football with ease after signing from Santos last summer.
Maia was signed by former Lille boss Marcelo Bielsa, a manager who Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino cites as his inspiration.
The Brazilian is a defensive midfielder who made 37 appearances for Lille last season.

Maia is the right age for Tottenham’s young team, fits the bill for the style of player they are currently looking for, and comes with a recommendation from the man Pochettino trusts most in football.
Newcastle’s offer was said to be £11 millon and Spurs would have to go higher to land the Brazilian.
If they did, there’s a strong chance it would be money well spent.
