Tottenham Hotspur were linked with a move for Arkadiusz Milik, but he has suffered a long-term injury so perhaps Spurs should switch their attention.

Just hours after Calciomercato suggested that Tottenham were keen on Napoli forward Arkadiusz Milik, he appeared to suffer an injury blow that may have left Spurs considering shelving their plans to pursue the talented 23-year-old.
Football Italia reported that Milik had torn his ACL and is now likely to require surgery, so a long spell on the sidelines appears unfortunately inevitable for the Poland international, who had made a solid start to the season.

While it is unclear what Milik’s injury may mean for Tottenham’s interest, perhaps Mauricio Pochettino should consider switching his attention to a player who has enjoyed a brilliant start to the campaign in the Bundesliga.
Kevin Volland has scored four times in his last three games for Bayer Leverkusen, so could perhaps be the kind of player who Pochettino should look at if he decides against targeting Milik in the wake of his injury news.

Like Milik, the Germany international is capable of playing either up front or as an attacking midfielder, which would make him especially important to a Tottenham squad that is still facing questions about whether they have the depth to challenge on multiple fronts this season.
But signing someone like Volland would arguably help alleviate those concerns about how much depth they have going forward in the same way that signing Milik may have done, so if Tottenham do shelve plans to target the Napoli man, moving for the German may not be a bad idea at all.
