The Tottenham Hotspur full-back is being linked with a move away this summer.
Danny Rose’s future with Tottenham remains very much up in the air.
The 28-year-old spoke to reporters yesterday, and admitted that he could leave Spurs this summer, as quoted by the Daily Mail:
“It’s no secret I’ve been linked with a move in the media. And it’s the club’s policy to move players on when they reach a certain age.”
Rose has been linked with an exit from Tottenham since the summer of 2017.
According to the Sun, Manchester United were prepared to pay £50 million for the England international two years ago, but Spurs rejected their advances.
Since then, Rose’s form has dipped, and so too has his value.
The left-back turns 29 next month, and with his contract set to expire in the summer of 2021, he will surely be worth around half of the £50 million that United were reportedly ready to pay two years ago.
According to the Sun, Tottenham want to sign Lucas Digne this summer, but Everton want Rose plus cash in return, and that in itself is evidence of how far the Spurs ace’s stock has fallen.
The Englishman has given a lot to Tottenham throughout the years, but it seems as though his time in north London is drawing to a close.
As far as cashing in on him at peak value, however, Spurs might just have missed the boat.
