The Leicester City man would be a useful addition to the Sunderland squad this summer.
The Black Cats endured a desperately disappointing campaign last term – one that eventually culminated in their relegation to the Championship, and whoever is handed the reigns at the Stadium of Light will have a lot of work to do if they are to take them straight back up to the Premier League.
One particular area of concern for Sunderland fans will be their forward options, with Jermain Defoe and Fabio Borini close to sealing their exits from the club, and the addition of an experienced hitman will be of paramount importance to the Wearside outfit’s chances of promotion.
With this in mind, the Black Cats should consider reigniting their interest in Foxes striker Leonardo Ulloa.

Sunderland failed with a £7.5 million bid for the Argentine in January, according to the Daily Mail, but they should be able to sign the Leicester man for a lot less than that now.
The 6ft 1in target man has just one year remaining on his current deal at the King Power Stadium, and with competition for places in forward areas so fierce at the east Midlands club, the Wearsiders would surely face little resistance, should they make a move for Ulloa.
The 30-year-old would add so much quality to the Black Cats’ front-line, by offering their defence a great outlet when they are under pressure.
He also possesses a fantastic work ethic – a prerequisite for a striker in the Championship. The Argentine is strong in the air and is an accomplished finisher when presented with a goalscoring opportunity.
Ulloa’s experience of winning the Premier League title with Leicester would surely be a major asset for Sunderland, should they be embroiled in the race for promotion during the latter stages of the Championship campaign.
And if the Black Cats manage to bring the 30-year-old to Wearside this summer, it could turn out to be a signing of real significance, as far as their hopes of promotion are concerned.
