Sunderland should consider a move for Arsenal youngster Krystian Bielik as he targets a loan deal in the Championship.

With Sunderland currently bottom of the Championship and recently losing their top goalscorer, there is no question that Chris Coleman needs to make the most of the January transfer window.

So far, one player is through the door at the Stadium of Light, so they arguably need to get a move on with bringing players in given that they may perhaps be looking at many of the same targets as their second tier rivals.

One player who they should perhaps target on loan is Arsenal youngster Krystian Bielik after comments he made to Polish outlet Przeglad Sportowy where he suggested that he is keen to head back into the Championship for a loan spell this month.

“The window is open, I am waiting patiently for the development of the situation. I hope that it will work, because I would like to return to the Championship,” he told Przeglad Sportowy.

Bielik was on loan at Sunderland’s relegation rivals Birmingham for some of last season and he was arguably one of their best players during his time there, shining in a handful of games.

A general view of the stadium as players warm up ahead of the Sky Bet Championship match between Sunderland and Derby County at Stadium of Light on August 4, 2017 in Sunderland, England.

That experience could make him a brilliant addition to the Black Cats squad, especially as he is able to play at centre-back or slightly further forward in a holding midfield role.

And as Arsenal may appreciate the chance to let Bielik get some first-team football under his belt, it may perhaps not be out of the question to suggest that Coleman will be able to pull off a deal for an excellent prospect that is not particularly expensive, leaving the majority of the funds he currently has to strengthen other areas of the squad that are causing him concern.
