Mino Raiola says Mario Balotelli could leave Nice for free this summer so should Spurs take a look at him?

Mario Balotelli could return to the Premier League this summer, according to his agent Mino Raiola, with the striker set to leave current club Nice.

Balotelli is out of contract at the end of the season and after two successful years in France the 27-year-old is apparently wanted by some of Serie A’s biggest clubs.

“Mario is ready to return, he has matured into one of the top 10 strikers in the world,” Raiola was quoted by the Mirror.

“In Italy he’s number one. He’s worth €100m (£88m), but he’s on a free transfer and is therefore a bargain.

“I’m negotiating with many clubs in England and in Italy. I’ve spoken with Juventus, Roma, Napoli and Inter.”

Balotelli has of course played in England before, with varying degrees of success, with Manchester City and Liverpool.

The Italy international scored 30 goals in 80 appearances in two-and-a-half years with City, winning the league title and FA Cup, but netted just four times in 28 games during a campaign with the Reds.

However, Balotelli has matured into a prolific goalscorer in Ligue 1, scoring 38 times in 57 matches for Nice to date and perhaps the attacker could be a good option for Tottenham Hotspur.

Harry Kane is the undisputed focal point in attack for Spurs, but they have struggled to find adequate backup/competition for the England international, with Vincent Janssen and now Fernando Llorente having failed to fill the role.

Could Balotelli, who has experience in the division as well as with two of the biggest clubs in Italy in AC Milan and Inter Milan, be the player to finally complement Kane?
