If, as rumoured, Fernando Llorente returns to Spain, should Tottenham Hotspur give Vincent Janssen another opportunity?

Fernando Llorente could be set to leave Tottenham Hotspur this summer, according to the Mirror, after just one year at the club.
The striker has grown frustrated with a lack of game time and is open to a return to Athletic Bilbao – where Llorente was an academy product and spent nine years in the first team before leaving for Juventus in 2013.

Who could replace him?
If the Spaniard does indeed depart Spurs then they once again are left with the problem of trying to find adequate backup for topscorer Harry Kane.
Kane has been sensational for the North London outfit over the past few years but there is a concern that there is an over-reliance on the England international and when he is injured there is no alternative.
This leads to situations where the 24-year-old is perhaps rushed back too quickly; which seemed to be apparent at the weekend when the forward looked rusty during the 2-1 FA Cup semi-final defeat to Manchester United.

While dipping into the transfer market is of course an option, should Tottenham instead consider the somewhat controversial move of giving Vincent Janssen another opportunity?
Like Llorente, Janssen struggled to make much impact under Mauricio Pochettino following a 2016 move from Feyenoord and this season was sent on loan to Fenerbahce as a result.
A broken ankle disrupted the Netherlands international’s time in Istanbul, but the 23-year-old is now fit again and has been linked with a £10m switch to Besiktas this summer by Turkish outlet Fotospor.
Yet if Llorente does return to Spain then should Pochettino give Janssen pre-season at least to see if the Dutchman can turn around his so far unsuccessful career in England?
