Crystal Palace have been reportedly linked with a move for Barcelona forward Munir El Haddadi. Should Southampton reignite their interest?

Munir El Haddadi has an impressive CV for a player aged just 21 – two La Liga trophies, two Copa del Reys and the 2015 Champions League.

He made a brilliant start to his Barcelona career when he first broke into the team, but is yet to back it up with regular first-team football.

The youngster is considered surplus to requirements at the club, and Barcelona are looking to offload him this summer.

He spent the last season on loan at Valencia, where he made 39 appearances across all competitions, scoring eight goals.

However, with Los Che not willing to sign him permanently, his future hangs in limbo.

Spanish media outlet Mundo Deportivo claims that Barcelona youngster Munir could be available in the market, with Crystal Palace being one of the clubs showing keen interest.

Barcelona are demanding a fee in the region of £18 million for the Spanish forward, but Palace would want the fee to be lowered.

Should Southampton reignite their interest in Munir?

Back in June, Mundo Deportivo claimed that Southampton are one of the clubs seriously looking at Munir.

It’s high time they come up with a concrete offer and snap him up before the transfer window closes.

Munir is a versatile young player who is capable of operating on both the right and the left, as well as playing as a front striker.

He is a technically gifted forward who would add a cutting edge in the final third for the Saints – something the club lacked under Claude Puel.

Moreover, the youngster has an uncanny knack of popping up with goals, and should take the pressure off star striker Manolo Gabbiadini.

Munir is a highly talented player, and probably he needs a change of scenario to fulfil his potential. Southampton could be an ideal destination for him.
