Earlier this year Sheffield Wednesday were linked with making a move for Rangers striker Martyn Waghorn, by The Times.
Waghorn was in the midst of the best form of his career in the Scottish Championship, where he ended the season with 28 goals in 36 games in all competitions, figures which could have been higher had it not been for injury.

Now the Scottish Sun report Waghorn is likely to leave the club after falling out of favour, and netting one league goal this campaign for the Gers.
It is reported that Rangers could be open to allowing the striker to leave on loan, and already Championship sides are being linked with a move.
The paper state that Fulham and Bristol City are showing an interest, but based on their previous reported desire to sign the striker, it would not be a surprise to see Sheffield Wednesday enter the mix too.

Waghorn has a mixed record in England, with spells at Sunderland, Wigan Athletic and Leicester City, but knows what is expected, and has added experience and confidence under his belt from his time in Scotland.
The former England under-21 international turns 27 in January, and would give the Owls further options up front if they bring him in.
They sit in 10th position in the Championship at present, and have scored a disappointing 17 goals in 16 games, the joint fewest of any team inside the top 14 positions in the table.
After reaching the play-off final last year, there are big expectations on the Owls to mount a similar push this season.
Whether Waghorn is the answer or not remains open to debate, but if they are still keen on him, then his current situation gives them a potential avenue they may decide to explore.
