Ibrox side Glasgow Rangers and Celtic may both perhaps be on the lookout for a new defender this summer, so Partick Thistle’s Liam Lindsay could be a great target.
Clint Hill is set to leave Rangers this summer
With BBC Sport recently confirming that Rangers plan to release both Philippe Senderos and Clint Hill this summer, Pedro Caixinha will surely be looking to bolster his defensive options during the upcoming window.
And although Celtic’s plans for the window appear to be slightly less clear at this stage, Brendan Rodgers may also be on the lookout for a new centre-back following a recent report concerning one of their defenders.
According to the Daily Mail, Jozo Simunovic is being chased by clubs from four different countries, so perhaps the Hoops may also be looking at the market in the hope that, should they lose the Croatian, his departure does not hurt the team too much.
One player who should arguably appeal to both clubs is Partick Thistle’s Liam Lindsay, who appears to be set for a bright career in the game after an extremely promising season.

The 21-year-old has been a key part of the Partick team that is on course to finish in the top-half of the Scottish Premiership table for the first time since 1981, having conceded fewer goals than the two teams directly above them in the table and having also let in only two more goals than the Gers have in the league this term.
Lindsay has not only proved to be a solid defender for Partick, but he has also been a key contributor of goals, with only one of his teammates scoring more than the six he has bagged this year.
And with Lindsay still so young, he could surely develop into the kind of player that would certainly help Rangers cope with the loss of Hill – his goals tally would leave him tied for second in the Gers’ scoring charts this term – or would fill the void that Simunovic would leave at Celtic if they allowed him to leave this summer.
