Glasgow Rangers should perhaps consider targeting a loan deal for Hadi Sacko following his year on loan with Leeds United.

After Hadi Sacko’s year with Leeds, Portuguese outlet Record has suggested that the Whites are unlikely to try and sign the winger on a permanent deal, seemingly leaving the path clear for another club to make a move.

One club who perhaps could do with his presence in the team is Rangers, who will be looking to enjoy an excellent summer in the hope that it will help them close the gap to Celtic at the top of the Scottish Premiership.

Pedro Caixinha surely needs to sign players who can bring a level of unpredictability and excitement to the Gers, and while he undoubtedly has his faults and is not the finished article, Sacko could be an excellent loan addition.

Though his decision-making needs work and his inconsistency often left Leeds fans tearing their hair out, there is no question that, on his day, he was capable of giving Championship full-backs an absolutely torrid time.

Apart from Barrie McKay perhaps, the Light Blues arguably lack options who can make something special out of little, but Sacko is a player who has the potential to create moments of brilliance out on the wing, and that may, in turn, help bring the best out of someone like Joe Garner who will surely benefit from having the ball put into the box where he can challenge for headers.

Rangers fans would have to accept that there will be some frustration watching Sacko if Caixinha went to Sporting Lisbon – a club he spent around two years with as assistant coach more than a decade ago – but adding him to the squad on loan may prove to be a masterstroke as the 23-year-old appears to have the potential to be a game-changer if he is at it.
