Glasgow Rangers have been able to bring Arsenal players to Ibrox in the recent past, so perhaps another Gunner should now be on their radar.
Arsenal’s Yaya Sanogo in action
After a hugely frustrating spell on the sidelines, Yaya Sanogo sent something of a message to Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger by scoring a stunning hat-trick during the Gunners’ under-23 clash with Reading on Monday.
While the 24-year-old’s struggles may mean that the treble – a perfect one, at that – does little for his chances of succeeding at the Emirates, his situation should arguably attract Pedro Caixinha’s attention ahead of a hugely important summer for Rangers.
It is no secret that Celtic should have more financial muscle in the transfer market, so the Gers will have to be extremely clever if they are to close the gap to their Old Firm foes, so perhaps taking a page out of the Hoops’ book would be a wise decision.
Moussa Dembele has arguably been one of the signings of the season across Europe, having arrived at Parkhead after his Fulham contract expired before going on to score 32 times for Brendan Rodgers’ side in all competitions.

Though signing Sanogo would be a much greater gamble – the Frenchman has failed to make the grade at the Emirates despite brief glimpses of quality – the fact his current contract expires this summer (via transfermarkt) means that a deal would be slightly less risky.
And even if he was rewarded with a new contract, it may not be out of the question to suggest that a loan move may appeal in the same way it did for Gedion Zelalem and Jon Toral.
With none of Rangers’ strikers reaching double figures in terms of league goals this term, Caixinha would surely be wise to look to bolster his attacking ranks during the summer, and taking a gamble on Sanogo may prove to be an inspired piece of business if they were able to convince him to come to Ibrox and subsequently able to get the best out of him.
